The Innovation PNG Awards were launched in 2019 by Business Advantage International and the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce & Industry to celebrate and encourage innovation in PNG organisations and local communities.
To encourage a greater cross section of submissions, the 2025 awards categories have been expanded from 2023 and included a total of four (4) categories as follows:
The winners were announced at a special Gala Awards Dinner at The Stanley Hotel on 27 March 2025.
Winners received 2 tickets to the Gala Awards dinner, a unique crystal glass winner's trophy, and have the chance to speak at Innovation PNG 2025 about their innovation.
The awards were judged by an independent panel of international and local experts appointed by POMCCI and BAI. In entering the awards, all entrants acknowledged that the judges' decisions are final.
The awards shortlist was announced at a special POMCCI Women in Tech breakfast at the Lamana Hotel, Port Moresby on 27 February 2025.
Environmental Health Development Agency WINNER

The inaugural Innovation PNG Award for Female Innovator (Sponsored by Moni Plus) was split between two entrants.
Pacific Palms Property’s Alumita Chan led the project to achieve high level EDGE environmental certification for Steamships’ corporate headquarters in Port Moresby.
Meanwhile, BSP’s Penelope Aisi led the team which developed the bank’s recently launched Wantok Wallet mobile wallet.
The awards were judged by an expert panel led by the futurist, Dr Jane Thomason.
